Creating a frictionless and intuitive user journey for Greece's #1 travel app

Ferryhopper simplifies direct and multi-step ferry travel by aggregating routes across multiple operators in a unified booking platform. It offers tickets for over 500 destinations across more than 33 countries. It has served more than 10 million travellers to date and has managed to retain an almost perfect Apple Store, Google Play and Trustpilot rankings.

My involvement

I joined a lean and outcome focused team as a senior product designer working on improving the end-to-end core web experience for desktop and mobile touchpoints. I organised and led the company's most important design initiatives and was responsible for the release of countless new features and improvements which greatly increased CVR and CTR in critical parts of the core user journey.

Completely revamped the visual language and introduced greater consistency and alignment with industry trends and created a new and more robust design system with more efficient organisation of tokens, variables, components and naming conventions which reduced time to ship and reduced friction during developer collaboration.

Working cross functionally with growth, marketing and external SEO experts, in just 3 months we revamped and optimised all child and parent content pages and a created a system that leveraged historical data to more efficiently capture popular ferry route and discovery intent.

The result was the creation of the most advanced programmatic SEO system in the travel market, a boost in growth from organic channels, increased time spent on automatically populated pages and higher CTR.
